JAMMU, Mar 15: Son of the soil, noted theatre and television artist, Dhanesh Dogra, who passed away on March 6, 2026 at Mumbai due to sudden cardiac arrest, was paid rich tribute by the theatre lovers, artists and friends, here today.
In this connection, a prayer meeting at Trikuta Yatri Niwas, Ambphalla Jammu was held wherein tributes were paid to the departed soul and prayers were offered for eternal peace.
Speakers on the occasion, described the demise of Dhanesh Dogra as a great loss to the theatre lovers of Jammu. Remembering Dogra as a passionate and committed artist who significantly contributed to the theatre movement, they said that his dedication, sincerity and love for theatre will always be remembered by fellow artists and admirers. They said that untimely demise of Dhanesh Dogra has created a void in the cultural and theatrical landscape of Jammu.
The participants also observed a two-minute silence and prayed for the eternal peace of the departed soul and strength to the bereaved family to bear this irreparable loss.
Dhanesh Dogra was a talent theatre and television artist from Jammu who appeared in several Hindi television serials, including “Swaragini”, “Suryaputra Karn”, “Khirki”, etc. He started his career in 1995 as a theatre artist in Jammu and later worked in Mumbai featuring in web series like “Ishq Express”, “Berlin”, “Sultan of Delhi”, etc. He was a five time awardee of the J&K Academy of Art, Culture and Languages.
