JAMMU, Oct 20: On the eve of his birth anniversary, Amar Mahal Museum and Hari Tara Charitable Trust here today paid rich tribute to Maharaja Gulab Singh, the founder of erstwhile princely State of Jammu and Kashmir and a function was organised in this regard at his statue in the serene lawns of Amar Mahal, Jammu.
The celebration was led by Martand Singh along with staff of Amar Mahal Museum and members of the Trust and they lit the lamps in front of Maharaja Gulab Singh Ji’s statue.
Speaking on the occasion, Martand Singh highlighted the exceptional leadership and vision of Maharaja Gulab Singh, who is remembered for laying the foundation of a strong and unified Dogra state.
He emphasized how Maharaja’s efforts not only brought together various regions under one rule but also promoted peace, stability and development during his rule.
Martand Singh further stressed on the importance of preserving cultural heritage and historical legacy associated with Dogra rulers, stating that it is the responsibility of the present generation to ensure that the traditions, values and history of the region are remembered and cherished.
“Maharaja Gulab Singh Ji was a visionary leader whose contributions were pivotal in shaping the history of erstwhile State of Jammu and Kashmir. It is essential to keep his legacy alive by educating future generations about the rich cultural past,” he maintained.
