KATHUA, Jan 27: Rich tribute were paid to Captain Sunil Choudhary, Kirti Chakra, Sena Medal on the anniversary of his martyrdom.
A function in this regard was organised at Captain Sunil Choudhary Chowk in Kathua where DC Kathua, Rakesh Minhas; SP Kathua, Shivdeep Singh, Army officers, family members of the martyr and other prominent citizen and ex-servicemen paid floral tribute to the martyr.
Col. P.L Choudhary, father of the martyr said that his son had scarified his life for the sake of his country while fighting militants in Assam on January 27, 2008. He further said that supreme sacrifice of his son will inspire younger generations.
“I feel proud to hear the bravery tales of my son but I also have grief and sorrow that he is not with us. His memories will always remain with us,” Col. Choudhary maintained.
While paying tribute, DC Kathua, Rakesh Minhas said that Martyr Captain Sunil Choudhary was a brave soldier from Kathua district and a number of martyrs from Kathua have sacrificed their lives in same way.
He said that such functions will motivate the youth towards patriotism and will inspire them to works for building the nation.
