JAMMU, Apr 4: Jammu and Kashmir Police have filed a challan in the court of Sub Judge, Jammu, in connection with FIR number 104/2023 registered at Janipur Police Station against an accused who is absconding.
The accused has been identified as Gagandeep Singh, resident of KC Colony, Preet Nagar near CRPF Camp, and has been booked under relevant provisions of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS).
As the accused has failed to appear before the court and continues to evade arrest, the court has initiated trial in absentia proceedings under Section 356 of BNSS, in accordance with the law.
Police officials said that the investigation in the case has been completed under the supervision of SHO Janipur, Inspector Vikram Sharma, and all necessary legal formalities were fulfilled before presenting the challan, paving the way for further judicial proceedings.
