TRF got funding from Malaysia, Gulf nations too

JAMMU, Sept 3: The Terror Resistance Front (TRF), a known proxy group of Pakistan-based Lashkar-e-Toiba (LeT) outfit has received terror funding not only from Pakistan but also Malaysia and Gulf countries.

The TRF was responsible for April 22 Pahalgam terror attack in which 26 civilians including 25 tourists and a local were killed. Besides, it was also instrumental in many other terror activities in Jammu and Kashmir.
As per the sources, the NIA, which has been investigating Pahalgam terror attack, has dissected as many as 463 phone calls linked to anti-India elements and supporters of extremism which were related to funding of the TRF from different places.
Funding to the TRF has been traced not only to Pakistan but also Malaysia, and Gulf countries.
The TRF is reported to have received about Rs 9 lakh funding through Malaysian resident Yasir Hayat.
The TRF also had links with network of Sajid Mir, the most wanted terrorist of Lashkar-e-Toiba.
The NIA has also got information from mobile data, social media chats, bank transactions, and call records of these people.
