Tremors felt in Kashmir

SRINAGAR, Sep 4: Mild tremors were felt across parts of Kashmir tonight after a 5.8-magnitude earthquake struck Afghanistan
According to the Meteorological Department, the quake occurred at 10:26 pm with its epicentre at latitude 34.58 N and longitude 70.66 E in Afghanistan. It struck at a depth of 160 km.
Though the tremors were felt in the Valley, there were no immediate reports of damage or casualties, officials said.
Three days ago an earthquake measuring an estimated magnitude of 5.4 struck the region during the intervening night of August 31 and September 1. The epicentre of the earthquake was located approximately 23 kilometres from Afghanistan, and the tremors were felt across Kashmir.
