Training on ‘Investigation of Cyber Crime’ commences

UDHAMPUR, Oct 24: Five-day training on ‘Investigation of Cyber Crime’ commenced here today at Sher-i-Kashmir Police Academy (SKPA) Udhampur.
A total of 19 officers from various units of J&K Police are participating in the training.
Rajinder Kumar Gupta, SSP, Dy. Director (Indoor/Training) was chief guest. In his inaugural address, Gupta highlighted the increasing prevalence of cybercrime in today’s digital age and emphasized the importance of continuous up-skilling of Police personnel to effectively investigate and prevent such crimes.
The five-day training programme will focus on IP and MAC address analysis, email and social media investigations, cyber forensic tools, data recovery, mobile forensics, online financial fraud detection and legal frameworks under IT Act, 2000 and its 2008 Amendment.
The course is being coordinated by Inspector Vivek Kalsotra assisted by HC Randip Singh, both from SKPA faculty.
