SRINAGAR, Dec 15: In view of rising violation of traffic rules by commuters especially passenger service vehicle drivers, an awareness -cum-counseling session was organized at Pantha Chowk, here today by Traffic Police.
During the counseling session Additional SP Traffic City Srinagar Zahoor Ahmad Wani and Deputy SP Traffic City Ghulam Hassan deliberated thoroughly on safe, secure and disciplined driving. The drivers/commuters were made to understand the serious results of traffic violations.
The affects of violation to laws was depicted by quoting numerous examples where some fatal injuries had been reported. On the occasion, volunteers from NGOs viz Kashmir Road Safety Foundation, Gods Lap, National Human Rights & Crime Control Bureau and International Human Rights remain associated during counseling session.
Emphasis was given to report eve teasing and other harassments to female passengers, overloading, overcharging, behavior of drivers and use of safety standards during driving.
