Traffic Police launches drive against minor drivers, school vehicles

JAMMU, Nov 24: Traffic Police Jammu today conducted a special drive to ensure safety measures for school going children outside Jodhamal Public School, Channi, Heritage School, Sainik Colony, Guru Gobind HSS Kunjwani, DPS School Residency Road, Luthra Academy Kachi Chowni, Dream Land Public School Janipur, K.C. International/ KC Public School/ KC Gurukul Paloura, Army School Domana. Govt. Hr. Sec School Domana, St. Peter School Jewel Chowk, Model Academy, St. Xavier Convent School, Barnai, K.V No.1&2, Gandhi Nagar to check traffic violations committed by school going students and also school Matadors/ Mini-Buses / Buses/ Omni Vans/ Auto Rickshaws engaged for ferrying the school going children violating the guidelines/directions issued by the Supreme Court of India and State High Court.
During the drive, 77 School Buses/Mini Buses/Bikes/Autos were seized on spot for violating the M.V. Act besides more than 150 vehicles have also been challaned.
Officials said the aim/motive behind such drive is to check the menace of traffic violations and to ensure safety of school going students.
SSP Traffic City, Jammu said that such type of special drives will be carried out in future also to maintain effectiveness and to curb the violations under M.V Act.
