RAMBAN, Sept 4: The traffic on Jammu-Srinagar National Highway remained suspended for over 10 hours today.

Official sources said that landslides took place during early morning in Panthyal area of Ramban sector. After this the movement of traffic came to halt on this busy highway.
DySP Traffic Ramban, Ajay Anand said that highway was blocked at around 4 am due to land slides and shooting stones for several hours at Panthyal sliding zone. He said a large number of vehicles remained stranded for over ten hours.
The shooting stones disrupted restoration work several hours. It was raining during morning hours in the area. As the weather improved the restoration work started and the traffic could be resumed at around 2 pm, DySP Traffic added.
