Traders call off strike in Pulwama

Srinagar, Jan 13: The Traders Federation and Auqaf Committee of Pulwama Town today called off the strike after a meeting with Divisional Commissioner Kashmir as the later agreed to allow the locals to install the amended militant insignia.
Representatives of Auqaf and  Traders Federation participated in the talks.
A member of Auqaf Committee said that the Government has agreed to fulfill their demands including installing of militant insignia within a week’s time, youths’ release and roll back of cases registered against them.
“After the assurance of government we have decided to call off the strike and from tomorrow the routine business in the town would resume after 15 days,” he said. The amended militant insignia to which the Government has agreed contains no pictures of any militant as was case with the first one.
