Trade bodies, social organisations celebrate Independence Day with enthusiasm, fervour

JAMMU, Aug 16: In connection with celebration of 79th Independence Day functions of hoisting National Flag were held across the J&K yesterday with great enthusiasm and charm.
The Central Government Pensioners Welfare Association, Jammu celebrated the 79th Independence Day with traditional fervour. The celebration was held at its premises at Wazarat Road complex attended by large number of former civil servants. The president of the Association Kuldeep Khoda hoisted the National Flag which was followed by National Anthem. BR Sharma, Ashok Angurana, Dr Sudarshan Kumar, O P Sharma, J K Vaid, B K Raina, Prem Gupta, S S Bijral, Ashok Gupta, Yoginder Kaul, K B Jandial and many others participated.
The Chamber of Commerce and Industries (CCI) Jammu organised an impressive function on the occasion of 79th Independence Day in Chamber House here, yesterday in which president of CCI, Arun Gupta hoisted the Tri Colour in presence of office bearers and senior members of the CCI.
Dogra Sadar Sabha (DSS) organised a simple function to celebrate the Independence Day at Sabha premises here on Friday in view of the Kishtwar tragedy. The National Flag was hoisted by Sabha vice president, Gambhir Singh Charak on the occasion.
Flag hoisting ceremony was held in the premises of K P Sabha Ambphalla here, on the occasion of 79th Independence Day yesterday. The function was attended by large number of people including members of the Sabha. On the occasion Sabha president, K K Khosa hoisted the National Flag.
In connection with celebration of Independence Day a grand function was held at Zaishta Devi Shrine, Zeathair, Srinagar in Kashmir in which hundreds of students attired in uniforms and prominent citizens including the members of Sanstha participated and unfurled the National Flag. The gathering sang patriotic songs and also paid glowing tribute to freedom fighters taking a solemn pledge to dedicate their lives for the national unity and integrity.
On the occasion of Independence Day yesterday Run for Unity was held in memory of Late Raizada Perhlad Bali on his 103rd birthday at Raizada Perhlad Bali Marg, Rehari here. The citizens participated in the run with great enthusiasm.
The Bhartiya Dalit Sahitya Akademy (BDSA) – J&K celebrated the 79th Independence Day with zeal and national pride at its premises. The Tricolour was ceremoniously hoisted by B.R. Kundal, Retired IAS officer and Working President of the Akademy, in the presence of prominent dignitaries and community members.
Members of the civil society also joined in large numbers, further enhancing the spirit of unity and patriotism. The programme served as a reminder of the sacrifices made for the nation’s freedom and underscored the Akademy’s ongoing efforts to nurture harmony, social justice, and cultural enrichment within the community.
The 79th Independence Day was celebrated with simplicity at the provincial Headquarters of Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) Keshav Bhavan, Ambphalla yesterday. On this occasion, Dr Gautam Mengi, Prant Sanghchalak of RSS, Jammu and Kashmir hoisted the National Flag and extended Independence Day greetings to the Swayamsevaks, (volunteers) and security personnel present.
The Press Club Udhampur celebrated the 79th Independence Day with great patriotic fervour by hoisting National Flag in the presence of the family members of the Shaheed Sub Inspector, Deepak Sharma. The event marked not only a tribute to martyrs but also the initiation of a noble tradition by the Press Club where the families of the martyrs will be honoured to hoist the Tri Colour in the future.
The office bearers of the Press Club including Sumeet Sharma president, Pankaj Saraf, vice president, Ashish Dutt general secretary, Deepak Gupta vice chairman and others attended the function.
Tawi Welfare Society (TWS) celebrated Independence Day. The Society in this regard held a grand function at Apnavan Suray Chak in which Master Kavi Raj president of the society hoisted the National Flag.
All India Migrant Camp Coordination Committee (AIMCCC) celebrated Independence Day at Jagti township under the leadership of its president, Desh Rattan Pandita. Vice chairman of the organisation, PN Jalali unfurled the National Flag on the occasion.
Standard Institute of Education, Udhampur celebrated the Independence Day in the School premises with great zeal and enthusiasm. On the occasion, School Principal, Chain Singh hoisted the National Flag.

The 79th Independence Day was celebrated by Dogra Brahmin Sabha (DBS) by hoisting the National Flag in the premises of the Sabha in presence of its members. The flag was hoisted by Ved Parkash Sharma president of the Sabha on the occasion.
Jal Shakti PHE Employees and Workers Association district Udhampur celebrated Independence Day at PHE Station, Barrian Udhampur. Amit Abrol, Superintending Engineer, Jal Shakti Udhampur hoisted the National Flag on the occasion.
