SRINAGAR: A top commander of the Jaish-e-Muhammad (JeM) among six other militants was killed and a soldier was martyred in two different encounters in the Kashmir valley on Thursday.
According to police sources, an Army soldier, identified as Sepoy Sandeep Kumar, attained martyrdom and one civilian Rayees Dar also lost his life in an encounter between security forces and militants in village Dalipora, Pulwama. They said in retaliation all the three militants were killed.
Meanwhile, official sources said that three militants were killed and a soldier was injured in an encounter between security forces and militants in village Handew in Shopian on Thursday evening.
