JAMMU, Dec 14: Why Ghulam Nabi Azad as then Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir himself didn’t take action against those involved in anti-national activities and why Congress Government failed to take action against those leaders after submission of list of their names by Azad.
These sharp questions were raised today by Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader and DDC member, TS Tony while addressing a press conference over recent statement by Ghulam Nabi Azad regarding a list of political leaders have terror links that he submitted before Government of India for action when he was Chief Minister but Congress Government took no action.
Tony said, “Why Ghulam Nabi Azad himself did not take action against these leaders who were having terror links.” He added, ” Azad himself was having official machinery in his powers domain that include police and intelligence agency but he took no action against these leaders nor he issued any statement when he was in Congress but now he issued this important statement which is a serious cause of concern in terms of national security.”
Tony questioned Congress for not taking action when the Party was in power and said that Ghulam Nabi Azad is claiming to have submitted this list to then Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and then Home Minister Shivraj Patel but no action was taken and this is a serious allegation of inaction against then Congress Government.
“Not only Congress, even present BJP Government has done nothing in the case so far with no cognizance has been taken even after tall claims of zero tolerance against terrorism by Government of India and J&K Government,” Tony further said.
He demanded that Azad should himself issue the list of these political leaders so that everyone should remain aware of these black sheep who are enemies of nation.
