SUCHETGARH, May 7: Senior Congress leader and DDC Member Suchetgarh, Taranjit Singh Tony, along with others here today laid the foundation stone of a new Gurudwara Sahib at village Seer.
The ceremony was attended by a large number of devotees and community leaders.
Speaking on the occasion, Tony emphasized the timeless and universal message of Guru Granth Sahib Ji, stating: “The teachings of Guru Granth Sahib are for universal brotherhood, love and peace.”
He said that every religion has the message to serve humanity and uphold peace.
On this occasion, Tony also announced that a Drug De-addiction Centre will also be established under the aegis of the Gurudwara Seer Singh Sabha to save the youth from the menace of substance abuse.
He appealed to the people of the village to donate liberally for the early completion of the Gurudwara.
Rashpal Singh Gill, ex-Sarpanch, Satvinder Singh, president, Gurudwara Committee and Chairman of the village, Panch, Ravail Singh, Jagjit Singh Bittu, Hardeep Singh, Jeet Raj, Kuldeep Singh, Bhag Singh, Hardayal Singh, Sarabjeet Singh and Manjeet Singh were also present on the occasion.
