RS PURA, Mar 20: Senior Congress leader Taranjit Singh Tony along with Ex-MLA RS Pura Prof Gharu Ram Bhagat, today inaugurated the road construction work from Devsthan Johal Biradari to Ditch via Mandir Chowk in Bhojpur.
The initiative aims to improve road connectivity in the region and provide much-needed relief to local residents.
Speaking on the occasion, Taranjit Singh Tony expressed his gratitude to Chief Minister Omar Abdullah for extending the power amnesty scheme for one year, which will benefit thousands of consumers struggling with pending electricity dues.
He further urged the Chief Minister to extend a similar amnesty to industrialists who faced immense hardships during the COVID-19 pandemic.
“The industrial sector plays a crucial role in economic growth and employment generation. The government must consider extending the power amnesty to industries as well. Additionally, consumers should be allowed to clear their pending bills in easy installments through post-dated cheques, making the process more convenient,” he said.
Both the leaders also urged the Public Works Department (PWD) to ensure that roads are built with high-quality standards.
They warned that any discrepancies in construction would be taken up with senior officials of the department.
Among others, who were present on the occasion included Choudhary Daleep Samotra, Sushil Choudhary, Jhonny Choudhary, Jasbir Singh, Balbir Choudhary, Jagdish Raj, Mukhtyar Singh, Bishamber Dass Bhagat and Rajinder Kumar Dhillon.
