Toilet block constructed under Civic Action Programme inaugurated

JAMMU, Feb 3: Deputy Inspector General of  Police, Armed/IRP Jammu Vijay Kumar inaugurated the recently constructed toilet block in Government Middle School, Railway Colony, here. The block has been brought up by IRP-14th Battalion under the Civic Action Programme (CAP) and has been funded by the J&K Police.
An amount of Rs 2 lakh has been spent on the construction of this block including five urinals and one washroom for boys and three washrooms for girls. Besides, raising of concrete structure with Colour Profile pre-coated sheets as roof, sanitary seats, washbasins with other related sanitary fittings, electrification and fixing of ceramic tiles to the floor as well as walls has been carried out.
Speaking on the occasion, Vijay Kumar was of the view that all other efforts go meaningless unless this basic human facility is not available in an educational institute.
Earlier, Commandant IRP 14th Battalion Manohar Singh while presenting the welcome address said that after surveying the local requirement in different fields through a committee constituted for the purpose, the immediate need of the construction of toilet facility in Government Middle School Railways was prioritized. Work was immediately undertaken and efforts were made in to get quality structure constructed.
Director School Education Jammu Ravinder Singh, Headmaster of the school Anchal Kour, Chief Education Officer Joginder Kumar Soodan, Zonal Education Officer Gandhi Nagar Zareena Sheikh, Deputy Commandant IRP 14th Battalion, Sukhdev Raj, Quarter Master IRP 14th Battalion, Ravi Kumar, Deputy Superintendents of Police IRP 14th Battalion, Kamlesh Shoor, JS Chib, Subash Chander, Harvinder Singh and Rajinder Kumar Bhardwaj were also present on the occasion.
Inspector D.K.Bhardwaj conducted the programme.
