TNWS deputation meets VC JDA

JAMMU, Dec 16: A deputation of Trikuta Nagar Welfare Society (TNWS) here today met VC JDA and raised the issue of vacant land of JDA in main market of Trikuta Nagar Colony.
The deputation was led by Rajinder P Kakkar, TNWS president and he was accompanied by Shailja Gupta, Amarjeet Singh, Narinder Kumar Bali and Vijay Gupta.
Members of the deputation said that the vacant JDA land has become the main cause of garbage dumping which is dangerous for the health of Trikuta Nagar residents. They demanded developing the vacant land as green belt.
“The vacant plots in Trikuta Nagar are rented out to labourers without the provisions of toilets, which has created difficulties for JMC to maintain a clean environment in the area,” the deputation members claimed.
They also demanded completion of the badminton courts in JDA Park.
Uplifting of JDA Park, Railway Road, Trikuta Nagar was also discussed with up-gradation by providing sufficient lights, benches and regular maintenance.
Among other demands was that the process of NOC, freehold rights, transfer of lease deed should be fast tracked with simple undertaking of plot holder to avoid corrupt practice.
The VC JDA said that some demands have been accepted and were already in pipeline with the concerned authorities while for some other demands, directions were issues.
