Tiranga rallies taken out across J&K with patriotic fervour

JAMMU, Aug 12: In connection with celebration of Independence Day falling on August 15, the Tiranga rallies continued to be taken out by various political, social organisations and educational institutions in different parts of Jammu with patriotic fervour today.
BJP Jammu & Kashmir president, Sat Sharma participated in a grand Tiranga rally organized at Khour in Akhnoor. The rally, which witnessed overwhelming public participation, was also attended by MLA, Mohan Lal Bhagat and district president Kuldeep Raj Sharma, along with several senior party functionaries and enthusiastic activists.
DDC Vice-Chairperson, Suraj Singh, former MLA, Dr. Krishan, Jagdish Bhagat, Brijeshwar Rana, Manmohan Kumar and others were also present.
Addressing the gathering, Sat Sharma said that the Tiranga is not just our National Flag, it is the symbol of India’s unity, pride, and sacrifice. He said that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Jammu & Kashmir has entered a new era of peace, development, and integration. He said that every household in border areas like Khour has contributed to the nation’s security, and today we salute their courage.
BJP organized Tiranga Yatras in Bishnah and Poonch also drawing massive crowds and evoking a wave of national pride across the region.
The Tiranga Yatra in Bishnah commenced from the historic Rambagh Mandir and culminated at Tara Chowk. The rally was led by BJP general secretary (Organization), Ashok Koul, accompanied by Rajeev Bhagat, MLA Bishnah, Ashwani Sharma, Ex-MLA, Rinku Choudhary, district president, Darminder Kumar, SC Morcha president, Rakesh Pant, Kissan Morcha president, along with members of the Jammu border district team, Bishnah Mandal team, Ex-Sarpanches and Panches, Arnia Mandal team, and enthusiastic residents from all walks of life.
Speaking on the occasion, Ashok Koul said, “The Tiranga is not merely a flag; it is the living embodiment of India’s pride, sacrifices, and unity.
Poonch witnessed a historic and enormous Tiranga yatra. It was one of the largest patriotic gatherings in the recent history of district. The rally began at the Sher-e-Kashmir bridge and concluded at Chhaka da Bhag with thousands of BJP workers civil society members and youth participating with unmatched enthusiasm.
BJP Ramban, under the leadership of district president and former MLA, Neelam Langeh, organized a Tiranga bike and car rally to celebrate the spirit of patriotism and unity.
The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from party leaders, office bearers, and youth activists from across the district.
The rally was also attended by BJP State general secretary, Gopal Mahajan, district general secretary, Gurdeep Singh, former district president and current DDC Ramban, A, Rakesh Thakur, former district president, Rajeshwar Kumar, BJP District general secretary, Khajur Singh, DDC members. Renuka Katoch (Ramban A), Balbeer Bali (Ukhral B), Jagvir Dass (Batote) and several BJP leaders and BJYM functionaries.
The University of Kashmir (KU) on Tuesday participated in the Tiranga Yatra organised as part of the Independence Day celebrations.
The rally, held on the scenic banks of Dal Lake and culminating at the Botanical Garden, witnessed enthusiastic participation from University authorities, students, faculty, and staff.
Vice-Chancellor KU, Prof. Nilofer Khan, in her message, said that the University’s enthusiastic involvement in such events reflects its deep commitment to nurturing patriotism and national pride among the youth.
Yuva Sangathan Udhampur organised a grand Tiranga bike rally which led by Akhil Bandral. The rally commenced from Domail Chowk, passing through Main Bazaar and Slathia Chowk, before culminating back at Domail Chowk.
With the spirit of patriotism, hundreds of youth rode proudly with the Tricolour fluttering high, raising slogans of national unity and pride. At the concluding point, the participants paid homage to the martyrs who laid down their lives for the nation’s freedom and security.
BJP DDC Vidya Motton and senior BJP leader, Devraj Sharma led an impressive Tiranga rally to celebrate the success of Operation Sindoor. The rally, which commenced at Miran Sahib, generated significant enthusiasm and response as it passed through the main bazaar, featuring the National Flag and symbolizing national pride and unity. The rally paid tributes to the families of the martyrs, acknowledging their sacrifice and expressing support and unity with the families who have lost loved ones in the line of duty.
As part of the observance of the “Har GharTiranga” campaign – 2025 under the Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav programme, a cleanliness drive was conducted today at Jammu Airport.
Staff members from the Airports Authority of India (AAI), Central Industrial Security Force (CISF), Indigo Airlines, Spice Jet, Air India, Air India Express, and other airport stakeholders actively participated in the drive.
On this occasion, Airport Director Brij Mohan Kaul appreciated the enthusiastic participation of all staff members and stakeholders.
Degree College Kakryal Katra, in collaboration with the Red Ribbon Club and NSS Unit, organised a Tiranga rally from the College premises to Panthal Chowk to mark the spirit of nationalism and unity. The rally was flagged off by the Principal of the College, Dr. Rajni Bhagat, who praised the enthusiasm of students in upholding the values of the nation. Students from B.A. Sem. I, III and V took active part in the rally waving the Tricolour and chanting patriotic slogans and songs that resonated along the route.
As a part of ongoing Independence Day celebration from 1stto 15th August to commemorate 79th Independence Day and to celebrate the International Youth Day falling today, NSS and NCC Wing of Government Degree College, Khour organized a “Tiranga Rally” under the patronage of Prof. (Dr.) T.K. Sharma.
The rally saw enthusiastic participation from the students and all faculty members.
