Time to empower rational voices

Sir,
In a world torn by hate and radicalism, your editorial, “Need for Rational Voices in a Polarised World” is both timely and urgent. It rightly calls out the hijacking of religion by extremists and the global apathy toward their victims – especially moderate Muslims who resist radical ideologies. The Pehalgam massacre, like many before it, received barely a whisper of global condemnation. Why must humanity’s outrage be selective? The editorial rightly urges support for rational voices within Islam – reformers, educators, Sufi scholars – who are silenced not just by terrorists, but by global indifference. It is also correct in highlighting Pakistan’s duplicity and the exploitation of Muslim youth. We must invest in education, not extremism; build bridges, not walls. As you said – the time to act is not tomorrow. It is now. Let rationality, compassion, and unity define our future.
