JAMMU, Jan 17: Acting swiftly on reliable information, the police team of Sainik Colony successfully intercepted a truck carrying illicit forest timber, foiling a smuggling attempt. The truck, bearing registration number PB02CC-8154, was seized by the police, and those involved in the illegal activity were apprehended.
The operation was carried out under the leadership of PSI Prince Jasrotia, In-charge Police Post Sainik Colony, and Inspector Shariq Bhat, SHO Police Station Channi Himmat. The team worked under the supervision of SDPO East and SP South Jammu.
A case has been registered at Police Station Channi Himmat under FIR Number 11/2025, invoking sections 303 of the BNS Act and 26 of the Indian Forest Act. The investigation into the incident is ongoing.
