JAMMU, Oct 18: The Thapar Institute of Engineering & Technology (TIET) today hosted its Convocation 2025, marking a momentous occasion that honored the academic accomplishments and perseverance of its graduating students.
The Convocation was graced by the esteemed presence of the Chief of Air Staff, Air Chief Marshal AP Singh, PVSM, AVSM and Sarita Singh, president, Air Force Family Welfare Association (AFFWA).
In his address, Air Chief Marshal AP Singh lauded TIET’s leadership in technological innovation and its contribution to nation-building through education.
He spoke about the values of service, discipline and responsibility, urging students to pursue excellence with integrity and to dedicate their success to the betterment of society and the nation.
Dr Rajeev Ranjan Vederah, Chancellor, TIET, emphasized the institute’s commitment to innovation and academic excellence.
He said, “Thapar Institute has continued to evolve through its focus on research, student-centric learning, and the establishment of Centres of Excellence that strengthen its position as a leading research institution.”
Professor Padmakumar Nair, Vice Chancellor, TIET, congratulated the graduates, saying, “I commend all degree recipients on their successful academic journey and those who have received medals and awards for their outstanding performance.”
On the opening day of the Convocation, 44 students were honoured with medals/awards for their exceptional performance.
This included 35 institute medals in recognition of exemplary academic achievements, and the following key medals/ awards:
Among others who graced the convocation ceremony included Rajesh Uppal, Anshul Khandelwal, Anirudh Koul, Jaswinder Sachdeva, Ritika Gupta, Amandeep Gujral, Ashwinder Singh, Ankush Arora, Rajanvir Singh Kapur, Rajan Mittal and Surbhi Garg.
The occasion also witnessed the gracious presence of a distinguished guest speaker, Dr Vivek Lal (Director, PGI, Chandigarh).
