JAMMU, June 28: Three youths were assaulted and stabbed today by a group of miscreants near new bridge over Tawi River falling under the jurisdiction of police post Canal Road.
According to a police spokesperson, about 7 pm this evening some youths from a specific community attacked three friends namely Yogesh (23) son of Ramesh Chander, Vishu (24) son of Naresh Sharma and Surjeet Kumar (28) son of Natha Choudhary, all residents of Flian Mandal, with sharp edged weapons and fled from the spot after injuring them seriously.
On getting information, a police team from police post Canal Road led by incharge Sub Inspector Sandeep Charak, reached the spot and shifted the injured youths to Government Medical College and Hospital, Jammu.
A case in this regard has been registered at concerned police station and investigation started. However, the cause of the attack and the identity of the accused youths could not be ascertained till the last reports came in.
