DODA, Mar 5: Police here today apprehended three persons and recovered about 14-16 gms of heroin from them.
Giving details in this regard, SSP Doda, Sandeep Mehta said that on March 4, 2025, cops from Police Station Doda headed by DySP Ajay Anand and SHO Doda, Inspector Parvaiz Khandey were on a routine vehicle checking at Naka point near Petrol Pump Doda.
“They stopped a vehicle of Tempo Traveler make bearing registration number JK06-3627, coming from Pul Doda and moving towards Doda City, for checking,” he maintained adding: “Apart from the driver, two more persons were sitting in the vehicle and on initial enquiry, driver disclosed his name as Ashfaq Hussain, son of Late Noor Hussain Wani, resident of Bhalla whereas other persons disclosed their names as Sayed Shadab, son of Ghulam Hussain Shah, resident of Akramabad Doda and Himayoun Sageer, son of Late Fatah Mohd, resident of Akramabad, Doda.”
The SSP further said: “During the search of Sayed Shadab and Himayoun Sageer, approx 5 gm Heroin like drug was found from the possession of each, whereas approx 4 gm heroin like drug was recovered from the driver.”
He said that total 14 gm of Heroin was recovered from the possession of all the three persons.
A case under Section 8/21/22/29 of NDPS Act was registered in this regard in FIR number 56/2025 at Police Station Doda and investigation started.
