JAMMU, July 17: Police claimed here today that they have arrested three drug peddlers from different areas of the district and recovered from their possession 17 grams of heroin.
A police spokesperson said that a team of Police Station Satwari led by SDPO South Sachit Sharma assisted by SHO Satwari Inspector Sumeet Sharma while on naka duty at Babliana rounded up a suspect identified as Mohammad Usman of Chakka, Bhaderwah at present Gujjar Nagar, Jammu.
During search of the suspect, he said, 5 grams of heroin was recovered.
Similarly, a team of Police Post Phallain Mandal led by SDPO South Sachit Sharma assisted by SHO Satwari Inspector Sumeet Sharma and incharge Police Post Phallain Mandal PSI Ajesh Singh Jamwal rounded up a suspect identified as Yasir Ali of Ragoora, Jammu, he said.
“During his search, six grams of heroin was recovered,” said the police spokesperson.
Another team of Police Post Bathindi led by SDPO East Syed Zaheer Abbas Jafari assisted by SHO Bahu Fort Inspector Shiv Dev Singh and incharge Police Post Bathindi SI Shakil Ahmed while on naka duty rounded up a suspect identified as Rohit Kumar of Rajiv Nagar.
During search of his belongings, 6 grams of heroin was recovered, said the police spokesperson.
All the accused have been booked under the relevant sections of the law and further investigations taken up at concerned police stations.
