JAMMU, Dec 5: With the arrest of three persons and recovery of stolen gold ornaments worth several lakhs from their possession, Jammu and Kashmir Police today claimed they have solved two theft cases registered at Police Station Janipur.
A police official said two individuals, identified as Tansh Uppal of Kachi Chhawni and Rajat Sharma of Moti Bazar, were arrested for their alleged involvement in a theft case registered under FIR number 182/2025, while another individual, identified as Chunni alias Rohit of Shaheedi Chowk was arrested for his alleged involvement in another theft case registered under FIR number 172/2025 at Police Station Janipur.
Gold worth several lakhs was recovered from the possession of the trio after sustained investigation, he said.
According to him, the arrests and seizures were made by teams of Police Station Janipur headed by SHO concerned, Inspector Vikram Sharma, under the supervision of SDPO City West, Dr Satish Bhardwaj, and SP City North, Vivek Sharma, with PSIs Rohit Manhas, Sandeep Charak, and SPO Ansh in key roles.
He added that the recovered ornaments will be returned to their rightful owners.
