Three drug peddlers held with heroin-like-substance, cash

JAMMU, Oct 13: Jammu and Kashmir Police in Gandhi Nagar area today claimed they have arrested three drug peddlers in two separate operations and recovered 36.78 grams of heroin-like-substance, cash, and a weighing machine from their possession.
In one of the operations, they said, on October 9, 2025, a team from Police Post Digiana, led by incharge Police Post, with the assistance of other police officials, intercepted and apprehended two individuals during routine patrolling in the Digiana area.
They were identified as Sushant Magotra of Vijaypur, Samba, and Rahul Sharma of Raipur, Domana, Jammu. The police officials said on search of the duo, 25 grams of heroin-like-substance, Rs 3410 in cash, and a weighing machine was recovered.
Accordingly, a case FIR number 224/2025 under sections 8/21/22/27A/29 of the NDPS Act was registered against the duo and further investigation taken up, officials said.
In a separate incident on October 10, 2025, a team from Police Post Nehru Market, led by the incharge police post concerned, with the assistance of other officials, arrested another drug peddler, identified as Sadham Hussain of Agra Chak, RS Pura, with 11.78 grams of heroin-like-substance recovered from his possession, they said.
He was booked in case FIR number 225/2025 under sections 8/21/22 of the NDPS Act registered at Police Station Gandhi Nagar and further investigation taken up, added the police official.
