Three drug peddlers arrested with narcotics, two separate FIRs registered

UDHAMPUR, July 16: Continuing its crackdown on drug peddling, Udhampur Police have arrested three individuals in two separate incidents and recovered contraband substances from their possession.
The arrests were made during routine checking operations by police teams from Police Station Udhampur and Police Station Ramnagar.
In the first incident, a police team led by the SHO Police Station Udhampur intercepted a car bearing registration number JK14J-4703 during routine patrolling at Battal Ballian-Londana road. Upon frisking the occupants, the police recovered a total of 12.20 grams of heroin (chitta) from their possession.
The arrested individuals have been identified as, Tarun Sharma, S/o Des Raj, R/o near CEO Office, Dandyal, 6.20 grams recovered.
Sushant Singh, S/o Ramesh Singh, R/o near Triloki Nath Mandir, Barrian, Udhampur, 6 grams recovered.
A case has been registered under FIR No. 257/2025 under Sections 8/21/22 of the NDPS Act at Police Station Udhampur.
Further investigation is underway.
Meanwhile, in a separate incident, a police team from Police Station Ramnagar, led by its SHO, intercepted a motorcycle bearing registration number JK14F-6046 during routine checking at Gurlang Bridge on Dalsar road.
Upon frisking the rider, the police recovered 32 grams of charas.
The accused has been identified as, Rajesh Gupta alias Raju, S/o Sudarshan Kumar, R/o Ward No. 02, Chigli Chori, Ramnagar.
A case under FIR No. 115/2025 under Section 8/20 of the NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Ramnagar.
Investigation is ongoing.
