Three-day visit of Shankaracharya concludes, tribute paid to Girdhari Lal Dogra

JAMMU, Nov 30: The three-day visit of Jagadguru Shankaracharya Swami Shri Adhokshajanand Devteerth Ji Maharaj, Peethadheeshwar of Govardhan Math Puri concluded here today.
On day 1, there was a programme to pay tribute to Girdhari Lal Dogra Ji on his 38th death anniversary in the presence of Shankaracharya Ji Maharaj.
Speaking on the occasion, Shankaracharya said that life of Girdhari Lal Dogra Ji was devoted to public welfare.
Mah Yagya for nation’s welfare was also organised at Mata Vaishno Devi Bhawan.
On day 2, a massive gathering welcomed Shankaracharya at Hiranagar while on day 3, he visited Chudamani Sanskrit Sansthan, Basohli where he was welcomed with a Purnakumbh and Vedic chants by students, Acharyas and residents.
Shakti Pathak, Managing Director of the Institute, performed the ceremonial worship of the 2,500-year-old holy Charan Padukas of Adya Guru Shankaracharya.
Jagadguru Ji emphasized that Sanskrit is the soul of India and without Sanskrit, India’s identity remains incomplete.
Prominent among those who graced the events were Sangeeta Jaitley, Nidhi Dogra, Mahamandaleshwar Shri Rameshwar Das Ji Maharaj, Mahant Rohit Shastri, Sat Sharma, BJP J&K president & MP, Rajya Sabha, Raman Bhalla, working president J&K Congress, MLAs Satish Sharma, Arvind Gupta, Chander Prakash Ganga, Dr. Sunil Bhardwaj, Yudhvir Sethi along with Bhushan Jamwal, Shakti Pathak, Director Anti-Corruption Bureau, Jammu, MLA Balwant Singh Mankotia and a large number of scholars, devotees and distinguished citizens.
All dignitaries paid floral tributes to Late Girdhari Lal Dogra Ji and sought blessings of Jagadguru Shankaracharya Ji Maharaj.
