JAMMU, Mar 2: A three-day outreach programme on TDS provisions concluded at the Northern Zonal Accountancy Training Institute (NZATI) in Jammu today.
The programme was organized under the guidance of the Commissioner Income Tax, TDS-1, Chandigarh, for Drawing and Disbursing Officers (DDOs) having outstanding demands from Q4 of 2018-19 to Q1, Q2 and Q3 of 2023-24.
During the session, DDOs were advised to file correction statements, if any, by March 31, 2026, which is the deadline for submission.
Around 52 DDOs from various departments attended the final day of the programme, with total 207 DDOs participating in the outreach initiative in the last three days.
The officers assured that pending correction TDS statements would be filed without further delay.
Rajneesh Kumar Gupta, ITO (TDS), Jammu, explained various provisions related to TDS and addressed queries raised by the participants.
Parvesh Khajuria, ITO (I&CI), Jammu, spoke about different sections under the New Income Tax Act, 2025.
Durga Koul, ITO Ward-1(1), Jammu, clarified issues related to PAN and stressed the need to reflect correct income details in returns.
Rajesh Talwar, Director Finance and Principal, NZATI, thanked the Income Tax Department for conducting the awareness programme and said such initiatives help DDOs understand compliance requirements in a better manner.
