Three-day free artificial limbs camp inaugurated

JAMMU, Aug 3: A three-day free artificial limbs camp was inaugurated today at Kali Janni by the Shri Atam Vallabh Jain Clinic, Jammu. The camp aims to serve differently-abled individuals by providing them with essential mobility and support aids-free of cost.
On the first day of the camp alone, 55 patients were examined and provided assistance. A total of 34 artificial limbs, 12 callipers, and 7 AFO & KFO devices were distributed among the beneficiaries. Additionally, two wheelchairs, two tricycles, and four hearing aids were handed over to needy individuals, marking a significant step towards their rehabilitation and independence.
Pradeep Jain, Chairman of the Shri Atam Vallabh Jain Clinic, briefed attendees about the process of fabricating artificial limbs. He urged the general public to spread awareness about the free-of-cost facilities available at the clinic for specially-abled individuals, ensuring that more people in need can benefit from the services offered.
Several members of the Jain community graced the occasion with their presence. Those present at the camp included Vishwa Mitter Jain, Varinder Jain, Ashu Jain, Davinder Jain, Jyoti Jain, Sunil Jain, Kimti Lal Jain, Deepak Jain and Vikas Jain. Notably, Kimti Lal Jain’s name was acknowledged twice, reflecting his active involvement and contributions.
Dr Anita Gupta, a physiotherapist associated with the clinic, played a crucial role in the camp. She thoroughly examined the patients and advised on the specific types of artificial limbs and aids required to help them overcome mobility-related challenges.
