JAMMU, July 7: Senior Citizens Support Service Club, Chowadi and Samooh Theatre group here today jointly started a three day Dogri Theatre Competition at Abhinav Theatre.
On day 1 of the competition, two message oriented Dogri plays were staged.
First play was performed by Aazaad Parindey Kala Manch under the direction of Mohit Singh Chib. It was written by Kumar A. Bharti and it highlighted that old and senior members of family are very important to maintain unity in the family.
Janak Khajuria, a seasoned artist delivered a good performance in the play and he was equally supported by Ankit Sharma, Sheetal Sharma, Pradeep Sharma, Saksham Chib and Disha.
The 2nd play was ‘Baba Jittmal’ by The Reflection Group staged under the direction of Ravinder Sharma. The play was written by Dr. Gian Singh.
Baba Jittmal is a soul-stirring folk drama that beautifully portrays the life and legacy of Baba Jittmal- a revered farmer-saint of Duggar Pradesh.
The actors who performed in the play were Rohan Sharma, Vrinda Gujral, Ravinder Sharma, Drishty, Ajay, Akash, Param Sagar, Mukul Bains, Pooravi Sharma, Manik Sharma, Kandrav Sharma, Nitesh Kumar, Keshav Singh, Raghuvansh and Jatin Mehra.
On this occasion the chief guest was Arun Gupta, president, Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Jammu and he lauded the efforts of Dr. Kasturi Lal Gupta, Chairman, Senior Citizen Support Service Club and Dr. Sudhir Mahajan, president, Samooh Theatre for organizing the drama competition which is very important to spread our own Dogri language.
Rajneesh Kumar Gupta organized the function.
