Three day course for police officers concludes at SKPA

JAMMU, Dec 16: A three-day long course on “Developing Effective Communication Skills, Behaviour, Attitude, and Responsibility towards the General Public” concluded here today at Sher-e-Kashmir Police Academy Udhampur (SKPA).
Fourteen officers of the J&K Police actively participated in this training program. The course aimed to equip participants with knowledge in emotional intelligence, self-awareness, emotional self-control, expression, soft skills, and emotional intelligence relevance to the police profession.
Rajinder Kumar Gupta, SSP, Deputy Director (Indoor/Training) was the chief guest. In his address, Gupta emphasized the critical aspects covered in the course, including effective communication, positive behaviour, the right attitude, and responsibility towards the general public. Gupta urged the participants to be ambassadors of positive change, fostering understanding and empathy in their interactions.
Eminent speakers from various academia present were Swati Basotra (Visiting Faculty, IIT Jammu), Dr. Rashi Taggar (Assistant Prof. SMVDU Katra), Dr. Karan Nathwani (IIT Jammu), Dr. Nilika Arora (Central University of Jammu), Dr. Ankita Choudhary (Child Psychologist, Department of Paediatrics, GMC Doda), and Dr. Mahesh Koul (Assistant Professor, Division of Agricultural Economics and ABM of SKUAST Main campus Chatta Jammu), shared their valuable experience and knowledge with the participants. The coordination of the course was led by Sukhvir Singh, DySP, (Administration), with assistance from Sub Inspector Irshad Ahmed.
