KISHTWAR, June 3: Police foiled third suicide bid in a row.
As per police sources, a team from Police Station Kishtwar led by SHO Inspector Abid Bukhari alongwith lady cops and police team from Shalimar Police Post timely rescued a lady namely Snita Devi, wife of Ravi Kumar of Trigam Kishtwar when she reached near Chattar Bridge at Hasti near Chenab river to commit suicide.
Enquiry into the matter is going on to ascertain the facts behind this suicide bid.
SSP Kishtwar Shafqat Hussain Batt has expressed serious concern over the rising number of suicide attempts in Kishtwar, mostly by women folk and has appealed to the public that everyone should come forward to put forth the matters pertaining to domestic violence and for the public ease, people should forward their grievances to Women Help desk functioning 24×7 at each police station in district Kishtwar.
Moreover, people should also seek assistance through police helpline numbers for timely police action, he added.
