Thieves target house at Patoli; decamp with gold worth lakhs, Rs 3.5L cash

JAMMU, July 27: Unidentified thieves struck a house at Patoli area falling under the jurisdiction of Police Station Janipur here today and decamped with gold worth lakhs and Rs 3.5 lakh in cash.
In between 11 AM to 5 PM, thieves broke open the doors and lockers of the house of one Mohan Lal son of Lalman of Patoli, Sarwal, Jammu, and stole various gold items and Rs 3.5 lakh cash, a police official said.
According to him, the owner of the house, and the other family members, were not home when the incident happened.
One of them noticed the doors and lockers broken when he arrived at the house around 5 PM to charge his drained phone, he said.
On the complaint of the victim, police have started an investigation into the matter. Police had not registered any FIR when this report was filed.
