JAMMU, Feb 2: A day after 1.5 kilograms of gold was looted from a jewellery store in Greater Kailash locality here, thieves targeted a grocery shop in Shalamar Chowk area in the wee hours today, and decamped with cash and other valuables worth approximately Rs 50000.

Owner of the store, Sahil Gupta, claimed that he closed his store around 10 pm on Saturday and around 2 am today, a known individual informed him that the locks of his shop were broken.

“After reaching the shop, I noticed some cigarette packets and other articles stolen, with cash littered around the locker. With Rs 20000 sale, the thieves have decamped with different articles worth around Rs 50000 from my shop,” Gupta claimed.
He said that a written complaint has been lodged with Police Station City but no individual has been arrested so far.
According to police, a case FIR number 09/2025 under Sections 331(4) and 305 BNS has been registered at Police Station City, with further investigation set into motion.
