SAMBA, Jan 15: Thieves committed three robberies in twin hilly villages of Sarna and Teri of Samba district late last night after taking the advantage of dense fog.
According to reports, unidentified thieves broke into two shops in Sarna village and one in the Teri village, stealing cash and goods and escaped. In Sarna village, thieves broke the locks of shops belonging to Kartar Singh and Surjit Singh, stealing the cash and valuables. Similarly, about a kilometer away on the same road, in the Teri area, thieves targeted Tarsem Singh’s shop, stealing approximately Rs. 10,000 in cash and groceries worth thousands of rupees.

The stolen goods reportedly included sugar, cigarettes, and cooking oil, among other items.
Upon receiving information about the incident, the police arrived at the scene and assessed the situation. The police have registered a case and launched an investigation, and are also examining CCTV footage from the surrounding area. The continuous incidents of theft have created an atmosphere of fear among local shopkeepers, who have demanded increased police patrolling at night.
