JAMMU, Dec 27: Unidentified thieves decamped with gold and silver ornaments worth lakhs and some cash from a house in Bishnah area here, sources said today.
They said the incident happened on Friday when thieves broke open the doors of a house belonging to one Surjeet Kumar in Chak Mian Sahib Singh area of Bishnah and ran away with the valuables and cash.
Taking cognizance of the matter, police have deputed a team to analyze the crime scene, record statements of the family members and witnesses, and collect other evidence to further probe into the matter, sources said.
No FIR had been registered into the matter till the press time.
