KATHUA, Mar 1: Unidentified thieves broke into a house in Ward number 15, Patel Nagar area here, and decamped with gold and silver ornaments worth Rs 15 lakh.
According to the owner of the house, Monika Sambyal, no one was present in the house at the time of the theft.
She said neihbours informed them after noticing the lock broken.
When the family reached home, they found household articles scattered and jewellery missing.
After assessing the loss, the family reported that gold and silver ornaments worth Rs 15 lakh had been stolen.
Accordingly, a police team, along with a forensic team visited the spot and collected the evidence.
Meanwhile, a case under the relevant sections of the law has been registered at the concern police station and further investigation taken up.
