Thief held, stolen truck valuing Rs 11 lakh recovered

JAMMU, Sept 29: Narwal police arrested a thief and recovered stolen truck from his possession from Birpur area of district Samba.
As per police sources, on Septmber 29, Gurdeep Singh, son of Mehar Singh, a resident of Basant Vihar, Trikuta Nagar lodged a complaint with police post Narwal that his truck bearing registration number JK02AV-5847 was stolen from Fruit Mandi, Narwal.
Acting on the complaint, a case under FIR number 239/15 under Section 379 RPC was registered at police station Bahu Fort and investigation started.
During the course of investigation, police team from Narwal police post arrested a person from Barnoti area of Kathua, who has been identified as Rishab Kumar, son of Kamal Kumar, a resident of Barnoti Kathua.
During questioning, the person revealed that the truck is kept hidden in Birpur area of district Samba.
On the disclosure of the accused, police team also recovered the stolen truck valuing Rs 11 lakh.
Further investigation into the case is going on.
Police team led by Incharge Narwal police post PSI Vishal Kumar arrested the accused and recovered the stolen truck under the supervision of SHO Bahu Fort police station Inspector Naveen Angral, SDPO East Mohammad Rafiq Manhas, SP South Udhay Bhaskar Billa and SSP Jammu Uttam Chand.
