Thief held, stolen paddy crop recovered: Police

JAMMU, Nov 26: Police in Jammu’s RS Pura area claimed today they have arrested a thief and recovered from his possession the stolen paddy crop weighing 1 quintal.
A police official said that on November 22, 2024, one Prem Nath son of Gyan Chand of Chakrohi, tehsil Suchetgarh, district Jammu, lodged a written complaint with Police Station RS Pura, reporting therein the theft of around 1 quintal paddy crop from his fields in Chakrohi on November 21.
Acting on the written complaint, the police official said that a case FIR number 250/2024 under section 3033(2) of the BNS was registered at Police Station RS Pura and further investigation taken up.
During investigation, he said, a team of RS Pura Police Station, with the help of inputs received from sources and other technical assistance identified one suspect Sandeep Kumar of Chakrohi.
During sustained questioning, the suspect confessed to his involvement in the crime and on his disclosure, the stolen 1 quintal of paddy crop was recovered from his possession, added the police official.
