Theft cases solved, 185 grams gold among items recovered

JAMMU, Feb 19: Police here today worked out two different theft cases and recovered gold worth lakhs along with other stolen items.
Special police teams at Police Station Channi Himmat under the supervision of SDPO East, Syed Zaheer Abbas Jafari were constituted and the team led by SHO Channi Himmat, Inspector Deepak Katoch assisted by incharge PP Sainik Colony, PSI Mohd Younis Khanday arrested a suspect Farooq Ahmed Rather son of Mohd Sharief Rather of Thaloran Tehsil Gandoh, Doda. During questioning he confessed his involvement in the crime and on his disclosure the stolen 185 grams of Gold worth Rs 9 lakh was recovered.
The overall arrest and recoveries were made under the supervision of SP South Deepak Digra.
On February 7, 2020, a complaint was lodged at Police Post Sainik Colony by one Kamlesh Kumar Shrikul that some unknown persons stole gold ornaments and some cash from his house.
Accordingly, a case under sections 454/380 IPC was registered and investigation started and the case has been solved now with the recovery of gold and arrest of the thief.
Meanwhile, PP Chinore has recovered the stolen LT ABC cable wires worth Rs. 3 lakh.
Special police teams of Police Post Chinore under the supervision of SDPO Domana, Sunil Singh were constituted and the team led by SHO PS Domana Inspector, Mahesh Sharma assisted by I/C PP Chinore, PSI Amit Roshan rounded up one Mohd Sayeed son of Fazal Hussain who on questioning confessed his involvement in theft at Sukhi Nehar area of Bantalab wherein LT ABC cable wires were stolen and the same were recovered from his possession.
The overall arrest and recovery was made under the supervision of SP Rural, Sanjay Sharma.
