Theft case worked out; two held, gold recovered

JAMMU, Sept 26: Jammu and Kashmir Police in Sainik Colony area have cracked a theft case reported from Sainik Colony and recovered gold ornaments weighing 130 grams. Two accused have also been arrested in connection with the case.
A police official said that the case was registered on September 19 at Police Station Channi Himmat following a complaint by a resident of Sector-F, Sainik Colony.
He said during the investigation taken up by a team of Police Post Sainik Colony, two persons, identified as Sahil Kumar of Check Haria Madh, Jammu, and Rakesh Kumar of Dablehar, RS Pura, were detained for questioning. On sustained interrogation, he said, the duo admitted their involvement.
Accordingly, police later recovered the stolen ornaments from Muthoot Finance, Mannpuram Finance, and from the shop of the accused, he said.
Meanwhile, in a statement, police urged people to remain alert, report suspicious movements, and avoid keeping valuables unsecured.
