JAMMU, Aug 27: Jammu and Kashmir Police have cracked a theft case in Janipur area by arresting the accused and recovering the stolen property.
A police official said the case was registered at Police Station Janipur on the complaint of one Shamima Banoo, a resident of Upper Paloura, Janipur, who reported theft at her residence.
On this, he said, a police team led by Inspector Vikram Sharma, SHO Janipur, under the supervision of SDPO city West, Dr Satish Bhardwaj and SP City North, Vivek Shekhar, arrested one Rajinder Sharma of Old Janipur, Jammu.
During sustained questioning, the arrested individual confessed to the crime and revealed the location of the stolen property, said the police official.
Accordingly, the police team recovered a large quantity of household items from his possession, including a refrigerator, washing machine, gas stove, two cylinders, rice cookers, fry pans, cauldrons, blankets, 15 kilograms of aluminium angle, wire worth around Rs 40000, four mixers, five taps, and six geyser pipes, he said.
Meanwhile, further investigation into the case is underway, added the police official.
