Theft case worked out; scooty recovered, accused held

JAMMU, Oct 2: Jammu and Kashmir Police in Miran Sahib area claimed today they have worked out a theft case by arresting one person and recovered the stolen scooty and a mobile phone from his possession.
A police official said on September 27, a complaint was lodged at Police Station Miran Sahib by one individual, who alleged theft of his scooty and mobile phone.
Acting on the written complaint, he said, a case FIR number 128/2025 under section 303(2) of the BNS was registered at Police Station Miran Sahib and further investigation was set into motion.
During investigation, the Investigating Officer (IO) under the supervision of SHO Miran Sahib, Inspector Azad Manhas, rushed to spot, conducted an on-the-spot inspection, and collected vital clues, he said.
Further, with the help of CCTV and other leads, one Varun Kumar of Bagga Morh, Railway Line, RS Pura, was arrested and a scooty and mobile phone was recovered from his possession, the police official said.
According to him, the accused is presently under police remand for sustained questioning as further investigation in the case is underway.
