JAMMU, Jan 15: Jammu and Kashmir Police in Mahore area claimed to have solved a theft case with the arrest of two individuals and seizure of the stolen items from their possession.
A police official said that one Prem Singh of Garh Shajroo lodged a written complaint at Police Post Shajroo mentioning therein that his 31 iron shuttering plates were stolen on the intervening nights of January 4-5.
On this, he said, a case FIR number 03/2025 under section 303(2) of the BNS was registered at Police Station Mahore and investigation started.
During the course of the investigation, he said, two suspects identified as Sajad Ahmed and Yaseen Ahmed, both residents of Garh Shajroo, were rounded up for questioning.
During sustained questioning, both the suspects confessed to their involvement in the crime and on their disclosure, the stolen items worth around Rs 62000 were recovered from their possession, said the police official.
Further investigation is underway, he said.
Pertinently, the arrest and seizure was made by a team of police led by incharge Police Post Shajroo under the supervision of SHO Mahore Inspector Rajesh Sharma and SDPO Mahore Waqar Younis Bhatt.
