Theft case solved within hours

Srinagar, Mar 26: Police in Bandipora today solved a theft case within hours by arresting the accused.
Authorities said that the Bandipora police station received a complaint from a shopkeeper, Nazir Ahmad Mir, son of Mohd Sadeeq Mir, a resident of Bandipora Ward No. 4, who runs a copper shop at Gulshan Chowk, Bandipora.
In his complaint, he stated that unidentified thieves had broken into his shop and stolen Rs 1,70,000.
In this regard, a case vide FIR No. 51/25 U/S 303(2) 332(c) BNSS was registered at Police Station Bandipora and investigation was initiated, police said.
During the investigation, with the help of technical as well as human support, the investigating team was able to arrest the accused from Bemina.
He has been identified as Imran Ahmad Sofi, son of Gh Nabi Sofi, resident of Rak Arath Dal Colony, Bemina Srinagar and stolen cash amount of Rs 149500 has also been recovered from his possession, police said.
“Moreover, a vehicle bearing registration number JK05B-8805 used in the commission of crime has also been seized.”
