Theft case solved; stolen revolver, bullets, cash recovered

JAMMU, Feb 9: Gandhi Nagar Police today claimed to have solved a theft case by arresting a thief and recovering stolen articles including a revolver and some bullets on his disclosure.
“Acting on a written complaint lodged at Police Station Gandhi Nagar by a person namely Abhishek Gupta son of late Sanjeev Gupta, resident of 418-A Gandhi Nagar (Jammu) that someone has stolen his licensed revolver number GLJK0504032016000013 along with 7 to 8 bullets and a cash amount of Rs 1,05,000 from his locker, a case under FIR Number 25/2023 U/S 381 IPC was registered in Police Station Gandhi Nagar and investigation got started,” a Police spokesman said.
He said during investigation, a team of Police Station Gandhi Nagar under the supervision of SDPO South Sachit Sharma and led by SHO Gandhi Nagar Inspector Pankaj Sharma, with the help of CCTV footages of the area, arrested the accused person namely Sarabjeet Singh alias Shubam son of Sukhjeet Singh, resident of Batiyari Katheel (Ramnagar, Udhampur) from Ramnagar area.
“On questioning, the accused his involvement in the theft case and on his disclosure, the stolen revolver along with bullets and cash worth Rs 90,000 was recovered from his rental accommodation situated at Gandey Talab, Shakti Nagar, Udhampur,” the spokesman said.
He said further investigation of the case was going on.
