Theft case solved in Pounichack, Rs 9,500 recovered

JAMMU, Aug 11: The Jammu and Kashmir Police have solved a theft case in Pounichak area under the jurisdiction of Police Station Domana, recovering Rs 9500 in stolen cash and arresting the accused.
A police official said the case was registered on the complaint of one Rajni Sharma, a shopkeeper from Govind Nagar, Gole Gujral, who reported that on the night of August 7-8, an unidentified thief broke into her shop and stole the cash.
Accordingly, he said, a case FIR number 183/2025 under sections 305/331(4) of the BNS was registered at Police Station Domana and investigation taken up.
The police official said the investigating team arrested one Rabi-ul-Hassan, a resident of Myanmar, presently living in Nandni, Jammu, who during sustained interrogation, confessed to his involvement in the crime and on his disclosure, the stolen money was recovered.
He said further investigation into the matter is underway.
