Theatre workshop begins at JU

JAMMU, Apr 8: Department of Students Welfare, University of Jammu has started a theatre workshop from April, 6 which shall conclude on April, 13, 2015.
Continuing the efforts to keep Jammu University more active in Cultural Activities, Dean Students Welfare Prof Pankaj K Srivastava has made a very important step ahead to inculcate cultural traditions and values through cultural activities. The workshop was inaugurated by Dean Research Studies Prof Posh Charak, Speaking on the occasion Prof Posh congratulated DSW for making an effort in the said field and also apprised the participants about the importance of theatre in day to day life.
During this workshop basic theatre concepts will be taught to the participants. Students from many departments of University of Jammu are participating in the workshop. The workshop will be conducted by Sumeet Sharma, Drama Instructor(SW) who is conferred with Bismillah Khan Yuva Puraskar for theatre direction and Ifra Kak ,Cultural Officer(SW) who is the first woman theatre director of the State who is academically trained in Theatre Arts.
Guest Lectures from various theatre experts will also be organized during workshop.
Prof Parmeshwari Sharma apprised the participants about the theatre workshop and also assured the students that more and more such activities and workshops will be organized in Jammu University.
Others who were present were Dr Anupama Vohra, Associate Dean(SW), Dr A.R Manhas, Assistant Dean (SW), Dharampal Sharma, Assistant Registrar(SW).
The participants of the workshop are Sumit Sharma, Harjeet Kour, Goldy Slathia, Madhu Verma, Shambhu Ram, Pankaj Sharma, Sanjeev Sharma, Raman Sharma, Aakash Sanmotra, Rajat Sharma, Nilesh Kumar Singh, Radhika Rasyal, Avisha Khajuria, Chahukeshi Jamwal, Archna Sharma, Sahil Rathore, Sonam Sharma, Vidushi Bala and Komal Bedi.
